Peer Review Services:
- System Peer Review
- Engagement Peer Review
There are two different types of peer reviews under the AICPA Peer Review Program (effective January 1, 2009):
- A system peer review is an on-site review required for firms performing audits and/or examinations of prospective financial statements.
- An engagement peer review is performed (off-site) when the CPA firm’s highest level of service is a review or compilation of financial statements, and performs no audit or attestation engagements.
